Parental Letter - Stranger Danger

We aim to educate young men, and latterly young women in the sixth form, who will leave us and become active and valued members of their communities. We wish, for all our students, that they should achieve as much as they can, not just academically but in other areas. We offer our young people a range of opportunities and appropriate challenges, encouraging and supporting them to grasp the opportunities and rise to the challenges.

An image of the headteacher The school may have a very traditional motto, “Consule Cunctis,” and this idea of caring for others is one to which we still subscribe. Other traditional values such as hard work, getting involved, and the pursuit of excellence are also recognised and rewarded. At the same time we are a forward-looking school that equips our students with the skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century. Our curriculum is innovative but there is still a strong focus on attainment and as a Specialist School in Maths & Computing, we are committed to using the most modern technologies to support all aspects of learning across the school.

Our OFSTED inspection (June 2007) confirmed:
  • This is a good school.
  • Students make good progress through the school to achieve very high standards at GCSE.
  • The school is focussed on students' success. Students achieve well because of good teaching and learning, an effective curriculum as well as good care and support for their individual needs.
